How Much Light Should I Give My Succulents?

Most succulents do not want to be “baked” in the sun for long periods of time (with cacti being an exception). Of course there are exceptions to this, but if you’re not sure do not put it in an area it will get sun all day.

If outside, it should get filtered light. This would be under a tree where the sun shines through the leaves periodically or on a porch that only gets sun for a small amount of time each day.

Inside near a window, or under bright indoor lights is usually all they need. Since windows usually face in one direction, they only get sun for part of the day. Sun through a window is considered filter light. You can also use a grow light if you do not have great lighting for your succulents.
